Gleaned from Psalm two...
Why when people conspire against us, do we fear? FOR THE WORD OF GOD SAYS...The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. Serve the Lord with fear (respect, honor) and rejoice with trembling at His awesomeness! Blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
Whenever you "feel" things that are the opposite of the fruit of the Spirit of God, ie: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Just use God's WORD to battle any fear, pride, shame, guilt, insecurity, turmoil or temptation. In the book of Matthew 4:1-4 it reads..."Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God then tell these stones to become bread." Jesus answered, "It is written......" and he proceeded to use THE WORD OF GOD to battle satan, and his enemy retreated (Resist the devil and he will flee it says in James 4:7). In Ephesians 6:10-13(14-18) it says, "Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God......." As you continue to read it goes on to describe our heavenly armor. Representing the Word of God is the sword and we are to use the sword (God's Word) to battle onslaughts.
God's Word is a tool that has been given to us so that we are not defenseless! This study of Psalms is an example of how we can glean a scripture to battle any and all attacks that may come our way just by reading our bible. As it said in Ephesians, our battles are really spiritual ones. You may have a big dog, a gun or know martial arts... but when it comes to spiritual battles my friends, we need to know THE WORD OF GOD!
Isaiah 54:17...No weapon formed against you shall prosper!
