When a conflict happens, humility is apologizing for "your" part but not pointing out the other persons. Ouch! That is not easy to do! We must learn to trust God with our complaints and know that if we leave them before the Throne of Grace that He will work it all out for good! Keeping our pie holes shut while letting God have control???? What a novel idea! I don't know about you but I seem to always need to spew all my thoughts. I learned a big lesson today as I was spending the morning with Jesus....If something is bothering you then it should be addressed because avoidance, procrastination, cynicism or using passive aggressive behavior are not good responses. But, God wants us to address it with Him before we go out and try to relieve ourselves of it on others. We need to take it into the presence of God for as long as it takes for it to be detoxed, so that when we do get the go, if ever, to talk to the person about it, we won't be all emotions but we will be able to speak the "truth in love".
Psalm 10:17, O Lord, You have heard the prayers of those who have no pride. You will give strength to their heart, and You will listen to them.
Psalm 149:4, The Lord saves those who have no pride and makes them beautiful.
Psalm 25:9, He leads those without pride into what is right, and teaches them His way.
Suggestion: Try writing until you are empty of all your distress. Read it then re-read it over and over. Keep adding new feelings and thoughts until you feel a great release and peace about your situation. Then, keep praying about it until God instructs or moves you. Time will either prod you to address the issue in a mature and calm way, speaking through love or He will redirect you away from it with a lesson of intimacy with God to bless you in future affairs. Never gossip or share your problems with immature people. Find a mature, strong rooted Christian to counsel you and pray with you, helping you through the emotional straights. And don't let things build up, be sure to decompress daily in the presence of God, praying and laying your petitions before Him. Remember also to read God's Word because it is the truth by which you should measure all things. It is full and alive with wisdom, knowledge and love.
It is only with God's character that people will know love and salvation.
1 John 1:9, If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But, if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.
Let God's Holy Spirit have quiet time with your heart and let Him speak peace to your soul till it sweeps out all the drama. Then, go and love in truth.
